Falcon Flight

You won’t want to miss this special flight of experimental aircraft to honor veterans! Set a reminder on your phone to raise your eyes to the sky at precisely 9:30 AM on Friday, November 10th, to see the Falcon Flight flyover. The team will fly formation for about 90 seconds over the Liberty Hill ISD’s borders, ending with a unique “missing man pull” over Liberty Hill High School. Get the flight path here! Also, you can get recognition for veterans who also work for LHISD during the Veterans Appreciation social media campaign all month long.

Liberty Hill Veterans Day Ceremony

Show your appreciation for veterans and their families at the Annual Liberty Hill Veterans Day Ceremony. This special tribute is from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, November 11th, in Veterans Memorial Park downtown. You’ll get to show your gratitude and honor their sacrifices. Stay up to date with event news on the Facebook event page.

Veterans Memorial Park

You can also honor vets year-round at Veterans Memorial Park in the heart of Downtown Liberty Hill. This beautiful park on the Square pays tribute to veterans of all military services and is open from dawn to dusk year-round. The Kneeling Soldier greets you when you enter under the archway. Artist Bob Ragan, a Vietnam veteran, used ancient stonework techniques to sculpt the soldier, who is meant to look battle weary and emotional but not defeated.

The park also has five monument stones set around a 5-point star with Old Glory in the middle. Names of veterans from Liberty Hill are carved in the stones, one for each military branch. The wrought-iron fence surrounding the park bears the military emblems of the five services.

Veterans Memorial Brick Project

The park also honors vets with memorial bricks. You can pay tribute to a veteran with ties to Liberty Hill through the Veterans Memorial Brick Project by inscribing a brick to place in the park. You can memorialize any post-service, honorably discharged veteran. You can add just text or text with a graphic, and even have names inscribed on the monument stones in the Memorial Wall. There’s a Served with Honor stone for each of the Armed Forces and a Lest We Forget Wall for those who lost their lives in battle.
