Grab your lassos and your boots! We’re going to the rodeo. This month locals will find family fun, good food, and excitement for young and old alike at the Liberty Hill Fair and Rodeo! The immersive experience offers the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and amateur events such as steer and team roping, mutton bustin’, and barrel racing.
PRCA Steer Roping May 13 & 14
Ahead of the main rodeo on May 13-14, the Ron Ross Memorial Steer Roping and Pro-Am team roping events are free for spectators and feature PRCA pros in the main competition and amateurs in the team roping event. Try your hand as an amateur on a team with the pros, or cheer on your favorites at the May 14 Pro-Am team roping event! Saturday starts at 10 AM and Sunday at 1 PM. PRCA Fair & Rodeo May 18, 19, & 20
The main fair and rodeo events run from 10 AM to 7:30 PM at Harvest Ranch Arena, 8355 Ranch Road 1869. Tickets for May 18-20 are $20 for 13+ years old, $10 for those 4-12, and free for kids up to 3. Select VIP seating is available for $50, and you can sit in a reserved section with comfortable chairs and exceptional views. Each night of the main rodeo, little ones get the chance to earn their own rodeo buckles during mutton bustin’. Children up to 7 years old and 65 pounds are invited to mount sheep and ride to victory at 6:30 PM in the rodeo arena. Bring your own helmets and vests or use the ones provided at the event. Little ones may try just one night or all three, and each nightly winner receives a rodeo buckle! Sign up each night at 6 PM (fee is $30 per ride), and ride at 6:30 PM. During the main rodeo, girls 16 and under are invited to participate in the Junior Barrel Racing competition. Five girls will run in the performance each night, while the remainder run in slack time slots. Sign up to join the fun from 10 AM to 6 PM on May 15.
