Can you believe August is already here?! Swimsuit and pool float shopping have officially turned to the first day of school outfits and school supplies. How are your children feeling about the first day?! Excited? Nervous and worried? A little bit of everything? We know it can be intimidating — here are a few ideas to get your kiddos ready for the new semester.
Get Them Excited!
The Liberty Hill Back-to-School Bash is the last splash party of the season at Wetzel Park, and is the perfect event to jumpstart excitement for school! Make plans to be there on Wednesday, August 9th, from 1 PM-3 PM for fun in the sun with music, contests, games, giveaway, and treats. This annual event can help your kiddo see going back to school is a reason to celebrate.
But we know some kids get nervous about going back to the classroom. Jitters are a bummer. They can ruin the day from the get-go. So a wake-up treat might be just the thing to cheer them up! Decorate their doors the night before school. Use banners, balloons, cheerful sayings, anything you know puts a smile on their faces. It’ll be so much fun to see the look on their faces! Take some pictures to remember the fun over the years.
You could even include a “wish jar” as part of the surprise. Decorate a jar for your students using their favorite colors to write their names! Your child can then write their hopes and goals for the year to put in there. Maybe they want to learn a new sport or read a particular book. What do you think your kids will want? Keep adding wishes to the jars all year. Then have fun reading them after the school’s out next summer. Did they make their goals? Did any of their wishes come true? If not, why not? And how can they make them come true?
Liberty Hill is Excited!
Exciting things are happening this year for Liberty Hill ISD! New technology is coming for students, including iPads, Chromebooks, and laptops. There is nothing like starting a new school year with new supplies! They can also meet their teacher ahead of time — beneficial for both students and parents.
You can assure your student the school district is excited to welcome them for a new year. They have a lot of new things planned. New class schedules and a new SMART tag system for busing. New Panther Academy courses kids can take. And there’ll be before- and after-school care if you need it. The 2023-2024 school year is going to be great!!
