Dress up in your favorite festival fashion and be part of the show at Whimsy and Wonder in downtown Liberty Hill on May 20! The line between artists and attendees blurs with a unique interactive art and music experience.
Surprises abound as Main Street transforms into an eclectic fusion of whimsical and wonderful. You’ll find colorfully adorned street performers, princesses on stilts, dancers, artists, and musicians everywhere you turn. Interact with live artists, dance and sing with seven live bands, enjoy wine tastings, and immerse your kids in the Children’s Imagination Garden.
Seize the magical day to create, explore and interact with painters, caricaturists, acrobats, sidewalk artists, drummers, an ice sculptor, and even an animatronic armadillo. And shop for handmade gifts, art, jewelry, and other unique items. Stop by the Operation Liberty Hill food drive booth to support the Lions Club community food bank program by donating canned goods, too!
Kids’ Delight in Interactive Art and Music
Your kids will delight in balloon animals and sculptures, face painting, temporary tattoos, bubble blowing, and interactive music and art before they even get to the Children’s Imagination Garden. They can make affirmation bracelets, chalk art, and lanterns and interact in hula hooping, a vintage guitar station, and the Soulshine Rhythm Experience. A kid-friendly food truck menu will also be available at Homespun Creations.
Eat, Drink, Dance, and Mingle
Stop by Main Street restaurants for sit-down meals, take-out, beer, and wine, or visit the food trucks. Sample wines while relaxing and listening to live music at the Thirsty Lounge. Other food and drink options include Cousins Maine Lobster, Hot Diggity Dawgz, Parker’s Corner Market, Thrall Country Diner, Willy’s Backyard, Rush Coffee, Hell or High Water Brewing, Whiskey Barrel Pub, and Hoppy Hydrant.
With a full lineup, you are sure to find music to enjoy: Backroad Traffic (Americana/Red Dirt country), Cake in a Bowl (motley range from jazz to hard rock), Lochness Rockers (rockabilly fusion), Lonely Hearts Club (Beatles tribute), MorningStar (Southern rock), Noguess Family Band (genre-mixing, kid-friendly), The Cheeney Brothers (originals) and The Steel Belts (unique guitar and whistling duo).
Be there from 6-10 p.m. May 20 in Downtown Liberty Hill (Loop 332). The festival runs 6-9 p.m. and street dance with Lonely Hearts Club from 8-10 p.m. Admission and parking are free, and leashed pets are welcome. Visit the event website for parking locations or more information.
